Nuts are a great health food and an excellent source of vitamins and minerals! In this episode Angela explores these valuable nutrients in nuts, shows us the best ways to prepare and activate them to make it easier on our gut to digest, and discusses some little known facts about pseudo nuts such as cashews and peanuts and why they can sometimes cause more harm than good.

Ensure you buy good quality nuts that have been harvested and stored correctly.
Activate your nuts before eating them to make sure they are easily digested – this includes soaking them overnight and using a dehydrator or low oven (about 40 – 50C) to dry them out for 6 – 24 hours.
Ensure you store your nuts well – keep away from heat, sunlight or excess oxygen, dampness or mould. Best to be stored in a glass, airtight container in the fridge or a cool, dark cupboard.
