13: Herbs 101

This is the beginning of a series looking into medicinal herbs, learning how we can use these medicinal, culinary herbs to bring about healing and restoration in the body, understanding the synergistic effects that herbal medicines provide without the side effects of most prescription drugs. Angela uses herbal medicine daily in her clinic, having witnessed the great effectiveness of this natural therapy, so she takes this opportunity to share with us the things she has learnt, the actions and properties of everyday herbs as well as more unique herbal remedies that you can harness to increase your health and treat many common conditions, safely and naturally. Join us on this herbal journey!

3 Take Away Keys

  1. Herbs have extensive healing properties, try using herbs in cooking food, herbal teas, and liquid preparations to improve specific conditions or for overall health.

  2. Herbs are biocompatible with the body so there will be less side effects than drugs

  3. Be careful, don’t rush in – check for any possible interactions with current medications you are on, start with small doses (or just herbal tea’s to begin!) and work your way up… start with uplifting, gentle tonifying herbs first and then move on to more cleansing herbs once your body is ready.
